About Us

Harrow Community First Responders are a team of volunteers who are trained and dispatched to respond to emergency calls through the 999 system in conjunction with the London Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. We cover Harrow, Pinner, Rayners Lane, North Harrow, Eastcote, Ruislip, Hatch End, Stanmore and even the surrounding areas could see our volunteers attending life threatening Emergencies.

Our volunteers operate as part of a rota system from their own home or place of work. They are dispatched at the same time as an ambulance via ambulance control to attend Category A 'immediately life – threatening' calls. These calls can include:

cardiac arrest
diabetic emergency
chest pain
unconscious patient
breathing difficulties
seizures.

We are never sent instead of an Ambulance, and will always be backed up by an Ambulance - and usually a Fast Response Car too!

We live within the community and surrounding areas of Harrow so we are able to attend the scene of an emergency in a very short time - often within the first few minutes. In the majority of incidents we are sent to, we would be first on scene.

If necessary, we can begin vital life saving first aid before the arrival of the ambulance further increasing the patients chances of survival.

Harrow Responders are playing a vital role within the local community.
